Texas Examination of Educator Standards (TExES)
The Texas Administrative Code (TAC) 搂230.21(a) mandates that all individuals seeking educator certification in the state of Texas must achieve satisfactory performance on comprehensive examinations. These assessments are designed to ensure that each educator possesses the essential content knowledge and professional expertise requisite for an entry-level position within Texas public schools. The Texas Examinations of Educator Standards (TExES) program was established to fulfill this objective.
