Steps to Become a Dance Major
Follow these steps to apply, complete your audition, and prepare for success in the Department of Dance at Âé¶¹ÌìÃÀ¹û¶³´«Ã½.
Start your journey by applying to Âé¶¹ÌìÃÀ¹û¶³´«Ã½ through Undergraduate Admissions. You must first be accepted to Âé¶¹ÌìÃÀ¹û¶³´«Ã½ before moving forward with admission to the Department of Dance.
Admission into the Dance program requires both acceptance to Âé¶¹ÌìÃÀ¹û¶³´«Ã½ and a successful audition. Once you’ve applied to the university, choose an audition date and register online.
Dance auditions may include ballet, modern, and jazz techniques, along with a brief faculty interview.

Dance majors must pass a sophomore-level jury—called the Sophomore Gate—to remain in the BFA program. This review assesses your technical progress, artistic development, and readiness for upper-level coursework.
